Structural modeling using TMM

  • Originally formulated to model MDOF systems (Pestel and Leckie, 1963)
  • Recently adapted to multi-segment beams with piezoelectric coupling (Wickenheiser, 2012)
  • Each segment may have different geometric and material properties
  • Properties within each segment are homogenous/constant
